The basic raw material in this course was a rope or wire with elastic character. We should create a product that has an advantage when it is made of those materials.
After a lot of different appoaches starting from small helpful accessories up to wardrobes I decided to design an outdoor chair.
The original material is really good to adapt to the human body. So the seat and the back are made of barrel-shaped volumes generated by twisted expanders. The frame of the chair is reduced to the form of a triangle. So the whole chair is constructed of simple forms (circle and triangle). That is all what you need to achieve a solid construction. The advantage of the barrel-shaped seat is that you can make it rolling and therefore easy in handling outside. The triangular frame can be fold to reduce the seat on a minimum. In this shape you can move it like a mower. Due to its visual relation to the mower and its advantage of mobility my furniture was named humorously „mowbile chair“.
